Georgian House, Canterbury

A brilliant time had by all. Positive: It is a beautiful period house, with period furnishings, and a lovely atmosphere. The bathrooms are modern and clean. The position is excellent for exploring Canterbury and having private parking (we managed to get 3 cars in!) was a real bonus, as parking in Canterbury is expensive. We had a slight issue working out the oven but the owner Claire gave us instant advice. The hosts were generally excellent with useful and rapid responses to any queries. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Negative: The front bedroom can be noisy as opposite a pub, and earplugs were useful, so not really a problem. Don't all try to bathe at the same time as the water pressure cant take it, but plenty of hot water if you just take it in turn! No streaming platforms on the TV for those who might need it.

Beautiful house in a perfect location to enjoy Canterbury.

Premium price property for location and parking. Positive: Excellent location with private parking in center city Canterbury allowing super easy access to everything. Location was our main priority and was the reason this property was chosen. The owner was flexible to accommodate a last minute date change. Each bedroom had access to its own bathroom which were all clean with great water pressure. Beds were comfortable with nice bedding. Negative: Inability to adjust temperature in the house which was set at 17* Celsius and turned on only twice daily. It was very cold in the house which limited where we could gather to the first floor parlor which had gas fireplaces. There was, however,a strong musty odor in these 2 rooms which wasn’t ideal. Improved with the fireplaces turned on but still noticeable. Dated furniture with musty odors. No dryer. Washer wasn’t working properly. No microwave. No toiletries. One towel per person for the week.
